Eating out is a great way to take a break from the kitchen, try different foods, and of course socialize over a delicious meal.
Regardless of how healthy the meal is, it can still sometimes leave us feeling bloated. This is because restaurants often use seed oils and a lot of salt, not to mention butter.
Here are a few do’s and don'ts to help with that post meal belly bloat
Do
-Drink some water. The water will help to dilute the sodium, and prevent constipation. Do not jug a huge amount, but rather sip it over time.
-Move: Movement helps to move things along: Walking is not only amazing for balancing your blood sugar, but it will help with digestion as well.
-Drink flat water. Sparkling water, or anything with fizz will only add to the bloat.
-Drink peppermint and/or ginger tea. Both of these natural remedies aid with digestion and can help to relieve the belly pressure.
-Yoga poses. Seated side bend, seated twist and cat/cow will get things to settle down.
Don’t
-Drink more alcohol. This will cause further dehydration and cause more discomfort.
-Don’t chew gum. Gum creates more gas in your stomach that can contribute to bloating.
