Health Benefits of Guacamole

Happy Cinco de Mayo




My clients are always asking me for healthy plant based snack ideas. Carrots and hummus seem to be everyone’s go to, with celery and nut butters in second place. But my absolute favorite snack is Guacamole!! Did you know that this delicious dip is super easy to make and chock full of nutritional benefits?


Lets break it down


Ingredients:

Avocados: I am all about healthy fats. We need healthy fats for our brains to work. And to be honest, we need fat to burn fat. Its true! Cutting out fat will not help you lose weight.


Cilantro: My absolute favorite herb! It actually helps with detox as well as removing heavy metals from the body. Think mercury! It is also loaded with anti-oxidants, to remove those carcinogenic free radicals.


Lime: A little squeeze of lime goes a long way. Limes are loaded with vitamin C, keeping your body healthy and infection fighting ready.


Optional Add Ins (But I like to keep it simple.)

-Onion, Garlic, Tomato. (all providing their own health benefits)



Guacamole is great for dipping, but it can also be used as a spread. My favorite ways:

-on gluten free toast-duh!

-on a slice of cucumber with a piece of smoked salmon

-mixed with chopped hard boiled eggs


And since its Cinco de Mayo, with my favorite chips
