What is a health coach?
A health coach is an expert at long term behavior change. Most health and wellness goals come down to changing our lifestyle behaviors. Although health coaches do have nutrition and fitness knowledge, we are here to be your cheerleader. Someone to stand by your side, and help you work towards attaining your long term goals. That can be anything from weight loss, healing nutrition, gut health, fitness and movement, stress level, relationships, sleep deprivation etc. Just being able to talk to someone, and be heard, can be very powerful.
As my extended area of expertise, I dove deep into training as a Functional Medicine health coach at FMCA (Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, an affiliate of The Institute for Functional Medicine. In functional medicine, we see our minds and bodies as interconnected.
Even the greatest athletes in the world do not win medals on their own. They have a coach, someone that is by their side, guiding them, and seeing the whole picture of the game. When we get inside our owns heads, or stuck on a challenge, it can be tough to see the forest for the trees. That is where the coach comes in. To unlock the big picture, and to guide their client in achieving their long term goals and visions for health and wellness.
